I am sending home the students’ first reading test. There is a score on top, but just be aware I was considering this as a practice test for the students and myself, and these scores are not going to be recorded into our gradebook. Some of them are quite rough😉. The kids are getting better at the test format now and are completing/understanding more of the test each week. This Friday the tests should be scored and officially entered now that I feel they are an accurate representation of student learning.
A new sheet of homework will be going home on Monday with one (or maybe two) math sheets with it. This homework will be due on Friday. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Students’ monthly reading charts are also due this coming Friday with their poem report filled out on the back. Make sure they have added up the total number of minutes read so they can earn their free pizza coupons from Pizza Hut.
Scholastic book orders are also due this Friday. Just go to clubs.scholastic.com and shop! Our class code is: QJ39G
September 26th-28th I will have a substitute in class as I attend some professional development training in Salt Lake.
September 29th is picture day and our first school assembly, so remember the assembly dress code!
October 5th-6th there is no school for Parent Teacher Conferences.
