Next week is another short week, so I want to get the homework out to all of you before Tuesday when the paper copy goes home.
When you get their homework sheet, or looking at in right now online, please spend extra time going over the reading passage with them. Many students are starting to read a lot quicker, but I can tell they never read through the whole passage and don't have a good understanding of what it is all about. Ask them questions like, "What is this paragraph mostly about?" and "Why would they use this heading for this paragraph?" Also, have them summarize back to you what they have just read. This will help them have a much better understanding when it comes to the test.
