This week we are reading I Wanna Iguana. It is a cute story all about pets and it is written in a series of letters. Here are a few activities you can try this week as a family to go along with what we are doing in class:
1. Choose a container to use as a mailbox. Then write notes to your family members back and forth throughout the week. At the end of the week, put the notes in order and staple them together to make a book. Read the notes to see what kind of story they make.
We are also practicing comparing and contrasting.
2. Choose any two objects. Tell one way they are alike and one way they are different.
In math I need students to complete practice pages 19 and 21 at home and return them to school on Friday. If they want or need extra practice they can do any unfinished page through 22.
Lastly, here is our homework sheet in case any of those failed to make it home today:

My goal as a teacher is to instill a love of learning and exploration in all my students so they become life-long learners. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is so important to keep communication open and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need! I look forward to a great year together!
